Family-owned Spanish label manufacturer LOC España says its Bobst Master M5 flexo press – installed in mid-2025 – has delivered significant operational benefits since its installation, helping the company increase capacity and improve production flexibility as demand grows for increasingly complex self-adhesive label applications.

According to LOC España, the investment came in response to customer demands for shorter lead times, high quality standards and greater product complexity.

“Our customers demand very high quality and zero defects,” says Zoilo López, CEO of LOC España. “Orders are typically high-volume, and a single error can result in significant product losses. They know they can come to us with any challenge: multilayer labels, variable numbering in booklet labels, reserved areas and special adhesives, or complex die-cutting solutions. This wide range of offerings forms the basis of our value proposition.”

LOC España first partnered with Bobst more than a decade ago, installing a Master M4 press. When the company sought greater capacity and flexibility, it opted for the newer Master M5 platform to maintain tooling compatibility and enable operators to work efficiently across both production lines.

The Master M5 had an immediate impact on operations, not only by increasing capacity but also through its seamless integration into the existing production environment. The company says running two highly compatible Bobst lines has helped improve workflow balancing across the plant while providing greater flexibility to manage increasingly complex jobs.

“We chose Bobst because it reflects our philosophy: a young, dynamic, and above all, innovative company,” explains Mr López.

Production manager of LOC España Andrés Marían added: “Machine tools like Print Tutor Technology are a key differentiator from competitors and perfectly align with the quality culture that defines our company.”

The company is also increasing its activity in food labelling applications, including labels designed for high-speed dual-head application equipment.

“Bobst has helped us achieve the speed and reliability needed to meet very tight deadlines, as well as to offer efficient finishing solutions such as multilayer and linerless labels,” said Mr López.

Looking ahead, LOC España plans to further expand its equipment portfolio, with a digital press expected to be installed this year if plans proceed as anticipated.
