The new SAMM 2000 from AV Flexologic
AV Flexologic has introduced a new mounting machine to the market, the SAMM (semi-automated mounting machine) which uses image recognition to automatically position plates.
The company said that it has been developed for customers who demand a combination of high quality mounting accuracy and repeatability. Eliminating press downtime due to mounting issues, while at the same time boosting overall pre-press efficiency and mounting capacity, the new mounter promises a fast return on investment.
The SAMM features automatic digital checking of the plate positioning, and pressure rollers which apply constant pressure over the full width of the plate while rotating the mounting cylinder, ensuring bubble free mounting and no need for manually pressing the plate to the tape. High resolution cameras with digital zoom enable a magnification of up to 170 times which is displayed on a 42 inch HD flatscreen monitor. The mounter can use manufacturers’ registration marks, such as Windöller & Höslcher’s Easy-reg, and registers at a tolerance of +/- 3 microns.
