A drive to become more sustainable and more productive is behind the decision of UK-based Aztec Label to invest in new flexo plate processing and water filtration technology from Fujifilm.

The Kidderminster business tied up a deal at Labelexpo Europe to purchase a second C-Touch Plate Processor and a PRC-1 water filtration unit and said that the additions would support future business growth, as well as improving its environmental performance.

It invested in its first C-Touch processor in 2021, when it also started using Fuji’s Flenex water-washable plates. The 30-year-old business has grown since then, and owner Colin Le Gresley said, ‘We are in no doubt that the time is now right for an investment in an additional processor to support future business growth. The design of the processor provides efficient plate handling and makes the whole platemaking process quicker than ever before.’

The PRC-1 water filtration unit will extend the bath life of the plate processors, while also reducing the amount of water required, Mr Le Gresley continued. ‘Using this system results in a cleaner processor, extending the time between cleaning, allowing maintenance costs to be reduced, and improving our environmental performance.’
