JET Europe selects ThermoflexX

Xeikon has signed a European wide distributor contract for its range of ThermoFlexX imagers with Jet Europe BV. Based on the agreement, Jet Europe will be one of the sales and distribution partners while Xeikon’s worldwide service network will provide local installation, training and service for the full range of products.

Harry Heesen, managing director, Jet Europe BV, said, ‘With the ThermoFlexX units, we expand our already wide range of solutions as a trusted provider of high quality flexo and letterpress plate production systems. The label and packaging industry sees Xeikon as a trustworthy player, and that was a very important reason to enter into this Europe wide partnership.’

Xeikon CEO, Wim Maes stated, ‘We have found a trusted pan-European distribution partner with years of experience in providing complete solutions for flexo and letterpress plate production. It is very important for us also that Jet is a company with a professional drive and a focus on meeting customer requirements, just like Xeikon.’

Furthermore, the very first installation of a ThermoFlexX 20 has taken place at Ghesquières SA, a French print service provider specialising in the printing and finishing of envelopes.

Part of the Spanish TOMPLA group, Ghesquières has a mixed production system of offset and flexo presses, and printing is carried out on rolls and processed afterwards, a unique process in the world of printing. Prior to installing the new imager, the company used Dolev and film.

‘No film and related developer chemicals means immediate savings in material costs,’ said Madame Allart, pre-press manager. ‘And eliminating the labour intensive process steps of film mounting and retouching – and automating the whole platemaking process – reduces the amount of labour required. Another key feature of ThermoFlexX is that it is a much more eco-friendly solution than we had before. With film and chemistry now removed, we even get state subsidies,’ she added.
