Tresu Group has launched the F10 iCon ink supply system, which offers full control of the ink circulation in CI flexo printing presses with Tresu chambers.

Using patented viscosity and flow control, the ink supply system ensures automatic flow and temperature control over the circulation from ink bucket to the anilox roller.

Constant pressure throughout the process prevents air, which can lead to blistered effects and ink starvation, mixing with ink in the anilox chamber. Suited for both water-based and solvent inks, the F10 iCon has been developed for central impression systems, where a closed architecture makes monitoring and control of ink viscosity, flow, pressure and leakage a manually intensive affair during the production run. Its airtight environment allows safe handling and storage of solvent inks, in environments where solvent evaporations are likely.

Christian Fogh-Hansen, research and development manager, commented, ‘The F10 iCon ink supply system provides an assurance of safe, stable and controlled ink circulation in flexo printing, eliminating waste and freeing up time. This greatly boosts the potential for colour consistency and leaner print management in CI printing.’

Other features include automatic cleaning after each production run and touch-screen operated real-time viewing. Cleaning cycles are completed in less than a few minutes. Strokes are counted to determine when fresh ink is pumped into the system, to ensure precise amounts are dispensed to the chamber, leaving minimal residue at the end of the production run. Excess ink can be returned to the bucket for reuse, without wastage.

The ink supply system is 1000 mm height x 500 mm in both width and depth and has a flow range of 5 to 30 litres per minute.
