Polish label producer WejherPlast has installed a new Lombardi Synchroline Viper 350, expanding its label-production capacity and continuing its relationship with the Italian press manufacturer.

The 350mm narrow-web flexo press is the latest Lombardi machine to be installed at WejherPlast, making the investment a repeat purchase rather than a first move into the manufacturer’s technology. The new press is intended for label production and incorporates the latest generation of Lombardi’s Synchroline Viper platform.

The installation comes at a time when Poland is gaining importance as a manufacturing location within Europe. Economic growth and continued investment, including funding from the European Union, have supported the country’s industrial sector, while manufacturers across Europe are reassessing supply chains and production locations amid changing trade conditions.

The Polish label market has also expanded in recent years. A market report published ahead of Labelexpo Europe 2025 found that the value of Polish label production increased by 80% between 2019 and 2023. Self-adhesive labels accounted for approximately 62% of total output during the period covered by the report.

For WejherPlast, however, the latest investment is primarily about production. The Viper 350 adds further capacity while giving the company access to Lombardi’s current narrow-web flexo platform, which incorporates automation and process-control features aimed at improving productivity, register accuracy and operational flexibility.

The installation is being supported by Reprograf-Grafikus, Lombardi’s authorised partner in Poland. Alongside sales activities, the company provides technical support and service to customers in the Polish printing sector.

“Our cooperation with Lombardi is developing extremely positively, and this new investment by WejherPlast is an important confirmation of what we are building together in the Polish market,” says Tomasz Balcerowski, managing director of Reprograf-Grafikus. “The fact that an existing Lombardi customer has chosen to invest again speaks for itself. Customers particularly appreciate the quality of Lombardi technology, the precision of register and the reliability of the platform in production.”

Mr Balcerowski adds that the Viper platform is attracting interest from other Polish printers, with several potential projects currently under discussion.

Lombardi also views the installation as part of its longer-term development in Poland.

“We increasingly see Poland not simply as a market, but as an important part of the new European manufacturing landscape,” says Nicola Lombardi, marketing manager at Lombardi. “Europe is rediscovering the strategic importance of its industrial base, and Poland is playing an increasingly important role in that process.”

For WejherPlast, the installation represents a further investment in its label operation. For Lombardi and Reprograf-Grafikus, the repeat order provides another indication of the growing presence of the Viper platform in the Polish market.
