MPS Printing is continuing its resurgence from last year’s management-led buyout by giving a preview of a new mid-web press to add to its flagship EF narrow web range.

The EF Packaging 680 is a 26-inch (680mm) wide, 200m/min press. The company says it gives converters looking at producing short run flexible packaging, lidding and shrink film the “highest quality, lowest waste and quickest job changeover” capability of the EF press concept. It has a repeat size of 10 to 25 inches and can take substrates between 20 and 200 microns.

The EF presses use lightweight aluminium E-Sleeve technology and a fast change ink chamber that minimises waste, alongside automated press controls such as mark-to-mark register settings, Crisp.Dot impression roller technology for enhanced print quality, MPSConnect data integration, and the AI powered Virtual Coach to help operators get the most from the machine.

The EF Packaging press can be customised with a range of optional modules, including gravure and solvent-based flexo units for printing whites, metallics or special coatings; turner bars for reverse-side printing; and lamination modules for producing laminated materials in a single pass.

“The EF Packaging is more than new equipment; it’s an opportunity to enhance your capabilities and stay competitive,” commented Richard Miedema, commercial director at MPS Printing. “With its wide format, automation features and customisation options, it drives efficiency and profitability.”
