Rising market demand has seen Creation Reprographics invest in additional flexo platemaking capability, with a new Esko CDI Crystal XPS 4260 system installed at its Northampton, UK base.
The combined imaging and exposure system can handle plates up to 42×60 inches, with an automated workflow that the manufacturer says reduces manual steps by 50%. It also offers solvent-free processing.
Matt Francklow, managing director at Creation, commented: “The CDI Crystal XPS system provides a major step forward in our ability to support printers with speed, precision and consistency. As such, having the CDI Quartz-ready is a no brainer and future proofs the technology we can supply to our clients, should they need it.”
“Quartz-ready” refers to Esko’s latest optics system for the CDI Crystal systems, which it says can deliver improved plate imaging speed and print quality. The solventless operation also adds to Creation’s sustainability-first approach, said Mr Francklow.
He added: “As we look ahead to the future, it’s essential that we invest in the best technology available, while supporting our sustainability ethos. Esko’s market-leading solutions align perfectly with our vision for the future of sustainable, effective prepress, so this decision was easy to make.”
