Bobst and plate mounting tape and sleeve manufacturer tesa have announced a new ‘close co-operation agreement’ that will see the two companies offer ‘new and bespoke’ joint solutions for high quality flexo printing, in response to customer needs and market demands.

Through the agreement, which is seen as the next step in an existing relationship between the two firms, customers will be presented with optimised packages incorporating Bobst printing presses and tesa plate mounting and web splicing solutions. Customers might also benefit from Bobst and tesa developing an increased understanding of and support for their needs and requirements, the company’s said.

Bobst customers will have direct access to its global network for technical service and support, and tesa is to make sure that its offer is optimised for the needs of Bobst customers.

‘Bobst is constantly evaluating new opportunities that will benefit customers, and our vision for the future of the packaging industry includes working together with other providers, such as tesa, who are also experts in their areas,’ said Frank Jurczyk, head of product marketing for CI Flexo at Bobst, adding, ‘Together we can add more value and better help our customers optimize the production process.’

For tesa, Stefan Sell, head of global key accounts for Industrial Growth Markets, said the agreement would facilitate faster product developments based on direct feedback. ‘We are committed to delivering high quality, more sustainable products and exceptional service through our partnership with Bobst,’ he said.
