Print manufacturers, Edale has announced the appointment of Chris Chappel as sales manager. The changes to the sales division now means that Mr Chappel will be based in Oldham and will cover the UK, Ireland and a number of export countries.

Mr Chappel has 13 year’s experience in the print industry in both a technical printing role as well as in a sales position. Initially employed by Edale as a print application engineer two years ago, Mr Chappel then moved into a technical sales role. His knowledge of the company combined with the time he has spent in the industry means that he brings a wealth of experience into his new role.

James Boughton, managing director, said, ‘Chris was the ideal candidate when we were looking to expand our UK sales team. The introduction and launch of the new next generation label and package printing press, the Edale FL-3, was the ideal time to recruit for this position. Chris’ experience of running the Edale range as well as servicing and customer training means he has the in-depth technical knowledge needed for this role.’

The change comes alongside Edale opening its second UK office, in Oldham. This new office will work alongside the existing one on the south coast, giving Edale a greater reach to its customers.

Mr Chappel said, ‘Working at Edale for a number of years has enabled me to gain invaluable knowledge on the company’s values and focuses. As well as this, I have been lucky enough to run the full range of presses - so as well as technical experience I am also familiar with the machines from a hands-on perspective. I am looking forward to the challenge that the new role brings, and am keen to introduce Edale’s British designed and manufactured presses into more UK companies.’
