The Asahi GB team, a division of Asahi Kasei Corporation, has celebrated the 40th anniversary of the company in Greece along with its European counterparts.

The entire team spent two days in Greece, meeting their European counterparts and senior management team from Japan, to celebrate the achievements of the organisation since its inception in 1974, as well as plan their growth strategy for 2015.

Asahi Photoproducts UK specialises in the production of photopolymer plates for the flexographic printing industry and over the past 40 years has had a proud history of technical innovation and service excellence. Focusing on the development of flat-top dot pinning technology in the UK, the company chemically engineers its own polymers, utilising the scientific foundation of its Japanese owners, for the high quality plate performance.

David Galton, director, commented, ‘Asahi has a great history to be proud of in the UK and we continue to bring pioneering technology to market, with the support of our Japanese parent company. Our latest sustainable, water washable, AWP plates are a ground breaking solution which meet the needs of the high definition printing trend, as well as considering the environment, which is extremely important to our printer and brand owner customers.

‘The ethos at Asahi Kasei is that we develop products that support ‘Life & Living’ so we are supporting this mission by delivering market leading technology that reduce hydrocarbons in production by not using aggressive solvent washes.’
