Lancashire based label printer, Knight Labels, has installed a new six colour Proflex 250 press from Focus Label Machinery to be used for self-adhesive labels on a range of substrates.
The Proflex 250 is a 10″ wide modular, inline press, is equipped with quick change print cassettes, turn bar, die station, sheeting station, slitting, rewinding and a combination of Infra Red and UV drying systems.
The new press was purchased in order to increase production capacity, optimise print quality and improve customer service levels. In addition to the UV drying system, the press is equipped with standard dryers, which combine infra red lamps with forced cold air, allowing faster drying speeds without heat build up. The removable print cassettes can be interchanged, or removed from the press in a few seconds, allowing very fast job changes and clean ups.
Paul Lever of Knight Labels commented, ‘The Proflex has proven to be the perfect choice for us at this stage in our development. It has all the sophistication of larger, more expensive presses, but still has a relatively short web path and remains an efficient, compact design. More importantly, it has increased our productivity considerably and it gives us plenty of options for the future, since the Proflex is modular and we can add to it as we need to.’
