Flexo press manufacturer Edale has unveiled a refreshed four-press portfolio that strengthens alignment with its owner Canon’s broader technology offering across labels and folding cartons.
The updated range introduces a clearer, more intuitive structure for customers. This unified look makes it easier for converters to instantly recognise each platform, its performance tier and intended application.
The refresh sees Edale introduce new model names for its established press platforms. The portfolio now comprises the Edale LabelLine FL4e and LabelLine FL4p for label production, alongside the Edale CartonLine FL6p and CartonLine FL7p for folding cartons. Central to the update is the introduction of two clearly defined performance tiers, designed to simplify specification and purchasing decisions. The Essential tier is engineered for dependable, day-to-day production and commercial agility, while the Precision tier is aimed at premium applications, higher volumes and advanced automation.
Lachlan Buirds, managing director at Edale, said the refresh is focused on clarity and capability. He explained that with the LabelLine FL4e and FL4p, and CartonLine FL6p and FL7p, customers can quickly identify the press that best fits their needs today, whether they require reliable everyday output or are scaling into higher-value, automated production. He added that aligning the look and feel of the machines with Canon’s design language and simplifying the overall story helps buyers navigate their requirements with confidence, while the “proven” Edale engineering remains unchanged beneath the surface. Single-pass efficiency, HD flexo quality and intelligent automation continue to enable converters to achieve more with less, the company said.
The Edale LabelLine FL4e is a compact, operator-friendly 430mm narrow-web press designed for short-to-medium runs, offering fast changeovers, low waste and a short learning curve. The LabelLine FL4p, available in widths from 430 to 570mm, builds on this platform with advanced registration control, optional inline embellishment and modular upgrades to support premium label production at speed.
In folding cartons, the Edale CartonLine FL6p is a 600 to 650mm single-pass press that integrates printing, varnishing, embellishment, die-cutting and stripping inline, reducing work-in-progress, shortening lead times and optimising floor space. The CartonLine FL7p extends the platform to 760–1000mm formats and higher-volume production, combining single-pass efficiency with compatibility for premium embellishment processes and future-ready modular expansion.
In addition, CartonLine configurations can be specified to run both carton and label applications, allowing converters to support multiple markets from a single production line.
