Spanish label manufacturer Labelgrafic has expanded its production capabilities with the installation of its first flexographic printing press, the Nilpeter FA-17. The move marks a significant shift for the company, which has traditionally focused on offset printing since its founding in 1992.

The investment in flexo technology is part of a broader reinvestment strategy aimed at strengthening Labelgrafic’s market position across sectors, including food and beverage, industrial, and chemical labelling. This transition was made in collaboration with long-time partner and label printer Adhesivos y Gráficas Ezquerro, which has also adopted similar equipment.

Labelgrafic cited changing customer demands and new business opportunities as key drivers behind the move. After evaluating several options, the company selected the Nilpeter FA-Line for its compatibility with existing systems and its reliability across various production requirements.

“We’re now close to having 10 flexo lines across our group – all from Nilpeter,” said Enrique Desamparados of Labelgrafic. “This unification helps with training, operations, and overall efficiency.”

The new press was installed with support from Esagraf, Nilpeter’s Spanish partner. While the transition from offset to flexo presented some initial challenges, the company reported a smooth installation process and quick staff adaptation.

Mr Desamparados noted that the press is already producing labels for Labelgrafic’s core markets. He praised the performance and stability of the equipment, as well as the effective training provided by Esagraf.

Looking ahead, Labelgrafic has acquired an additional 7000 square meters of land adjacent to its current facility, signalling plans for further expansion.
