Packaging solutions provider Parkside has announced the elevation of Paula Birch to the position of managing director, following a successful spell leading the company’s Malaysian site. She replaces Robert Adamson, who switches to become chairman of the business.

The moves are part of a wider restructure of the management team, following what Parkside says was a successful 2023, enabling it to ‘harness’ this momentum.

Ms Birch said, ‘Our business has grown significantly in recent years as demand for sustainable flexible packaging innovations continues to increase, and it’s important that our business capacity and capabilities grow along with it.

‘This restructure will help us harness the momentum of our recent success, so we can continue to deliver market-leading innovations and the best possible service to our customers across the world.’

Further changes in the restructure include Paul Vaughan taking on Ms Birch’s former responsibilities, as general manager of Parkside Asia, Dr Joshua Swann joining the board as technical director to lead on new product development and innovation, Laura Haggerty taking on an account director role as well as becoming head of client services, and Julia O’Loughlin becoming group marketing manager. Staci Bye has returned to a customer-facing role as sales account manager, while Jonathan Steele begins a two-year secondment to the company’s Asian site, to bolster its technical capabilities and support its growing business in the region.
