Anilox Laser Technology (ALT) has expanded its production site in Manchester, adding a factory on newly purchased land adjacent to its existing facilities.

The new building houses a full engineering workshop, allowing ALT to manufacture all anilox roller bases in-house. It was also built, with the help of local company PB+T Joiners and Builders, to include low energy lighting, heating and ultra-insulated cladding.

Plans are now in place to install Solar PV to the roof, as has already been done to the main building, to further reduce the company’s carbon footprint, and to ensure the building complies with ALT’s aim of becoming as carbon neutral as possible.

Three more full-time personnel have been hired as a result of the expansion, along with one apprentice. This means ALT will have trained and employed four apprentices since opening its doors in 2011.

‘We have a long term plan of training apprentices in our industry processes to ensure the future of the company’s high production standards,’ said managing director Anthony Jewell.
