Ahead of its packaging conference in Brussels this week, the European flexo association, FTA Europe, introduced its ‘Flexo Best Practice Toolbox 1.0’, a digital reference guide, or eBook, which has been developed to help ‘guide the users through the activities that are necessary to achieve predictable results from a flexographic printing system.’

With the aim of supporting users so that they can ‘do it right first time’, the online document offers a systematic approach and easy access to information on all aspects of the flexographic printing process, through text, video and animation. This promises to ‘deliver business benefits through higher productivity, reduced waste, consistent quality, continuous reliability, better environmental performance, safer working and improved understanding and teamwork across the entire workflow chain.’

President Sante Conselvan said, ‘One of our main objectives is education. After several discussions we decided to support this with a document specifically for the European market and the project was initiated. A skilled workforce is a crucial part of a flexo printing company and the Toolbox will contribute to the lifelong learning of our employees.’

The Toolbox project was started in 2016 and is supported by a wide range of suppliers as well as the national member associations. It is available in English and can be bought from the Apple iBooks store.
