The development of a new range of UV flexo matt varnishes has coincided with the appointment of several new members of staff to meet Pulse Roll Label Products’ plans for expansion.

The range includes EL370, EL371 and EL372, satin, matt and super-matt, foil block-able formulations that reduce wash up and press down times.

Gary Seward, managing director explained, ‘All printers have experienced the perennial problem of matt varnishes thickening in the duct during medium to long print runs that then require a heavy anilox to transfer the product. This in turn creates UV curing and overprinting issues. As part of our continuous product review procedures, I challenged our technical department to develop a range of UV matt varnishes that would provide a solution. Having tested the products with one of our customers we are confident in having brought another new development to market that not only improves print quality, but also reduces press downtime costs for our customers.’

‘The new product takes the optimum anilox roll required from 8-12 volume down to 4-6, ‘ added Mr Seward. ‘This represents not only a huge reduction in usage, but also a smoother finish with faster cure and better over printability on foils, high build and thermal ribbons.’

The range has been introduced at a time when the company has seen increasing demand for its products in both the home and export markets, and so new staff have been brought in to continue this growth.
