Saica Group has reaffirmed its commitment to developing sustainable packaging solutions that address the regulatory, environmental and consumer challenges facing the industry, during its European Customer Convention in Málaga, Spain.
More than 650 customers, partners and industry experts from across Europe attended the two-day event in June, where the company outlined its vision for the future of packaging and showcased innovations designed to support businesses in an increasingly complex market.
The convention highlighted the growing impact of sustainability requirements, evolving regulations and changing consumer expectations on the packaging sector. Saica executives outlined how the company is strengthening its capabilities to help customers adapt to these challenges while continuing to drive innovation.
Saica group president and CEO Susana Alejandro reflected on the company’s progress since the previous convention in 2024, while managing director Enrique de Yraolagoitia highlighted ongoing investments in infrastructure, decarbonisation and sustainable packaging solutions.
The event also explored the implications of the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which is expected to play a significant role in shaping the industry’s future.
Product innovation formed a key part of the programme, with Saica presenting new packaging solutions for direct food contact and unveiling Saica Skin Origami, a concept combining flexible packaging with corrugated cardboard.
Throughout the convention, Saica emphasised the importance of collaboration, innovation and sustainability in helping customers meet future market demands while advancing environmental goals.
