Morrisette Packaging, a third-generation family-owned US company, has expanded its high graphics corrugated manufacturing capabilities with the purchase of two new machines from Koenig & Bauer.

The company’s Greensboro facility in North Carolina, USA, will receive a Koenig & Bauer Omega Magnus 230 folder gluer in October, followed by the installation of a Koenig & Bauer ChromaCUT High Tech eight-colour rotary die cutter in April 2026. According to the company, these will be the first of their kind to be installed in North America.

“We bought the machines together and will have succeeded in creating something no one else in this industry has,” said John Morrisette, president of Morrisette Packaging. “The Koenig & Bauer Celmacch brand is an extremely impactful name around the world, and we quickly discovered their machines were the best in the industry.”

The new equipment is part of a larger investment in the company’s high graphics corrugated division, which includes capabilities in digital and flexographic printing, gluing, cutting, and automated delivery systems. The Greensboro plant also operates a digital press, digital die cutter, flatbed die cutter, and an autonomous conveyance system.

Morrisette’s director of manufacturing, Kevin O’Brien, said the company first encountered the Koenig & Bauer technology at drupa 2024. “In my four decades in the corrugated industry, I’ve never seen anything like it,” Mr O’Brien said. “My expectations were exceeded. The machinery would allow Morrisette Packaging to indeed fill a niche in the market.”

Morrisette Packaging expects its new corrugated sheet plant to be fully operational by June 2026.
