Print inspection system manufacturer EyeC has expanded its portfolio of ProofRunner inline inspection systems, with the launch of ProofRunner Wide Web.

The Hamburg-based business says ProofRunner Wide Web offers ‘super-fast and precise 100% print inspection in wide web applications’, with ‘consistently high inspection performance at any press speed’, as well as documentation of quality and inspection results. Real-time defect detection helps optimise production efficiency and safety, EyeC added.

The product can be used with wide webs up to 1700mm wide, and for any type of roll goods, including flexible packaging and leaflets. It can be installed directly on a printing or cutting machine, with set up possible in seconds. It features an 8k colour line scan camera for precise print image control at full press speeds. An inspection mask created in prepress defines the inspection areas, such as text, graphics, colour deviations, variable data and 1D and 2D codes, with operators warned in real-time of any significant deviations from the print-ready PDF file. This can potentially save expensive consumables and machine running time.
