Manchester-based Anilox Laser Technology has completed the latest stage of its investment plan with the installation of a new Metallisation PS50 plasma system.

The new system has allowed the company to ‘close the loop’ of production within the ALT business units where it can and build its own Coatings Division to provide plasma spraying for anilox rollers and sleeves.

Anthony Jewell, managing director at ALT said, ‘After years of research and development looking into thermal spraying and understanding the methodology, principles and requirements we were set to move forward with the final project. We decided to build a standalone facility like we have recently completed with our roller base manufacturing to offer better control, contingency planning and ensuring we treat each business unit as its own entity with the right people, the right environment and state of the art equipment to ensure efficiency and quality of our products.’

The land adjacent to ALT’s existing two factories was purchased by the company and now gives the company a third production site.

Mr Jewell continued, ‘It was vital to the success of the project we worked with the right provider for this full turn key solution and after many consultation meetings we settled on our partner of choice, Metallisation.’

Metallisation has been involved in the metal coating and the plasma spraying industry for almost a century. ‘Their ability to offer us a unique project from full design concept, engineering management, manufacture, installation, commissioning and training supported by continuous technical back up and a British built product ensured we had made the right choice,’ concluded Mr Jewell.
