The European Flexographic Industry Association (EFIA) has decided that its annual awards ceremony, due to take place on 19 March 2020, will be postponed due to the continuing spread of Coronavirus.

A statement released by the association said, ‘After careful consideration, we are disappointed to announce that the upcoming annual EFIA Awards ceremony will not be going ahead on the planned date due to the escalating Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

‘Following the Prime Minister’s COBRA meeting on 12 March 2020 and the resulting actions from that assembly, we have taken the decisive measure to postpone the ceremony for 2020 so as not to cause any risk to attendees and to prevent the unnecessary spread of the virus. A new date will be proposed in due course.

‘This is not a decision we have taken lightly but the health and safety of our guests remains paramount in our thoughts, particularly with guests travelling in from around the world.’

The association is now working to find a new date for the event in 2020.
