Printing press manufacturer Bobst is to become a sponsor of the FlexoTech Awards 2012, sponsoring the category for ‘Flexo print jobs previously printed by another process’.

Neil Jones, managing director of Bobst UK and Ireland Ltd, said, ‘We’re delighted to sponsor the FlexoTech Awards especially as there is a very clear tie up between the category we have chosen and our Masterflex-HD high quality flexo printer. Along with other Masterflex models, the HD is giving packaging manufacturers the option to take jobs which were previously printed using litho and instead flexo print them directly onto corrugated, yet with the same, or better, print quality.’

With its advanced control technology and ultra-precise, automatic adjustment, the press is challenging the role of offset printing for high added-value packaging. It features the innovative new start & go system which provides ultra-high precision register setting, make readies with less waste, and excellent control during the run resulting in a register accuracy of ± 0.1 mm between colours and ± 0.4 mm over the length of the machine. An integrated iQ300 quality system checks the print quality of every sheet, and combined with a Registron S5500 system, adjusts the machine as necessary to achieve perfect results every time.

The FlexoTech International Print & Innovations Awards 2012 will be held on October 18 at the Hilton London Metropole.
