MacDermid Printing Solutions has officially opened its new photopolymer plate production line in Morristown, Tennessee, doubling the company’s current production capacity. 

The new 100 ft fully enclosed photopolymer plate production line, features high end technology including a twinscrew extruder, tank farm, calender, inspection system, laser marking machines, and UV lighting/treatment; all integrated within a single control system. Additionally, new energy efficient features within the line will help to reduce the company’s greenhouse gas emissions.

‘Package printing is the fastest growing segment within the overall printing industry. And by bringing new technology to the package printing industry, MacDermid has achieved tremendous sales growth in the past several years. The next logical step for us was to expand our manufacturing capacity. We are excited to show our continued commitment to the package printing industry with this new investment,’ said Timothy Gotsick, company vice president and general manager.

During the ribbon cutting ceremony there was a tremendous amount of excitement about the future of the Morristown plant. ‘We have very ambitious goals. We can always get better, and we intend to do so. We are committed to making the most of this investment,’ concluded Mr Gotsick.
