Visitors to the INFO*FLEX show in Nashville got a sneak preview of the latest plate innovation from Flint Group.
The nyloflex FTF (short for Flat Top for Flexible Packaging) is a plate with built in flat top dots and surface texturisation that can be rendered at any resolution using existing equipment.
PJ Franczkiewicz, North America Product Manager Printing Plates, said that in field testing the density increase has been up to 25% with a smooth solid coverage and reduced trail edge voids. The low tack of the hard plate as well as its lay flat quality offers easier storage.
The nyloflex FTF will be commercially available later this year.
