Ink manufacturer, Siltech Limited, has moved to a new location after the business experienced growth of over 50% for several years.

The company had previously been based at the Science Park at Nottingham University, but was forced to move due to its rapid expansion.

Mike Toner, sales manager, said, ‘We have moved to larger premises on Church Street, Old Lenton, where we will have very pleasant surroundings and much more space. We have seen very good growth in our sales of Thermoprint Tamper-Evidence inks, much interest in our Sterisure sterilisation inks and labels, particularly in Gamma sterilisation, and now a huge market pull for our Silmark laser coding products.’

Managing director John Bannard explained that growth in sales had been running at over 50% p.a. for several years and that it was difficult to keep up with demand. He explained that shortage of working capital, including staff, space and equipment, had hindered growth, and although he had made several attempts to attract an Equity Investor, it had been to no avail.

The company offers a wide range of products that find applications in several industries, particularly in packaging with tamper-evidence, brand-protection, and soft-feel applications. This range of products includes the company’s flagship range, Silmark, which are inks that change colour instantly when struck by the light beam from an IR laser.
