The Höelscher Miraflex 8 colour press

Coveris has invested in two new flexographic printing presses to support sustained growth within the UK flexibles sector as well as expansion into new markets.

Both of the company’s flagship sites are due to benefit from the installation of new Windmöeller & Höelscher Miraflex 8 colour presses.

Following the recent expansion of its UK flexible plastics division with the acquisition of Burnley based Learoyd Packaging, the packaging provider is now looking to continue to expand its UK food operation with further investment into two new high specification presses at its Gainsborough and Burnley sites.

The Burnley press has been commissioned to include advanced colour management specifications as well as in-line gravure capabilities. With operational activity set to commence in the latter part of the year at Gainsborough and commissioning due to take place at Burnley in early 2016, the investment creates an exciting opportunity to explore and grow into new markets sectors including dairy, snacks, bakery and confectionery.

President Mark Lapping said, ‘The investment of these two new presses will support our ongoing growth initiatives in the UK by improving and increasing our overall printing capabilities. This will allow us to better service the growing demand from our customers for high-quality, printed film-based packaging solutions.’
