ColorCert Suite 2.7 has been designed to make the communication of colour specifications and performance metrics easier and more streamlined

The 2.7 version of X-Rite’s ColorCert Suite software has been launched to help simplify colour communication, monitoring and reporting for brand owners, design agencies, converters and ink manufacturers.

Designed to help members of the packaging workflow manage specifications and monitor quality control from the artwork to premedia, to the ink room to the press room, the new software has increased flexibility in the measurement and scoring for substrates by making substrate standards optional for spot colour workflows and allowing users to measure but not score substrates. Improved guidance helps operators to better adjust ink density or strength to reach target colours faster through the new BestMatch feature. New metrics such as ink strength, white ink opacity, whiteness, have been added to support CMYK, extended gamut, and spot colour packaging workflows.

New connectivity to X-Rite InkFormulation software ensures better communication between the press room and the ink room. Press measurements can be sent directly to InkFormulation software for reformulation when required. Communication with X-Rite IntelliTrax2 automated colour measurement solution, X-Rite Color iQC quality assurance software and BST eltromat IPQ Spectral inline colour measurement device has been improved to streamline colour workflow even further.

‘From prepress and the ink room to production process control, [ColorCert] helps organisations manage precise colour and print specifications, uniting traditional silos of information into one common workflow,’ commented Adrián Fernández, vice president, PantoneLIVE, X-Rite Pantone.

‘Since we implemented X-Rite ColorCert, it has helped us to achieve a higher level of colour control,’ said Luis Rivas, graphics manager at StarPak Ltd in the US. ‘Our colour department likes the ColorCert Suite, as it guides the colour technician to the correct colour match in less time than before.’
