EFIA CEO, Debbie Waldron-Hoines

Debbie Waldron-Hoines, EFIA CEO, has been awarded the Freedom of the City of London for contributions to print, after being nominated by the Stationers’ Company.

While an honorary commendation in the modern context, the Freedom is awarded to recognise significant contributions to business and public life, or to honour celebrities and prominent figures.

Ms Waldron-Hoines was put forward as a new freeman by the Stationers’ Livery Company, following her work at the European Flexographic Industry Association, European FTA and co-founding role in Women In Packaging.

‘It’s an absolute honour to be given the Freedom and I hope to use it for the benefit of the print and packaging industry,’ Debbie Waldron-Hoines commented.

‘We have a number of challenges in the sector that we need to address with the support of Stationers’ Company and EFIA; the skills gap and training and education – key to the development of the sector – as well as dealing with many of the sustainability challenges that are being voiced in the media at the moment. I will use the award to support my role and ensure we continue to focus on the strategic issues in the industry,’ she concluded.
