Gallus reports that it is gaining “significant momentum” in the US market, with more than ten new press investments in the country since the start of April.

The new presses include a range of models, from traditional flexo presses such as the Gallus RCS and Gallus Labelmaster, through to hybrid flexo/digital Gallus One and Gallus Five systems.

A recent Gallus Five order has been taken at Hub Labels in Hagerstown, Maryland, where the system will complement a range of existing Gallus presses, including an EM 410, two EM510s, two RCS 330s and a Labelfire 340 Hybrid. The addition of the Gallus Five will give the company faster speeds and a wider 17-inch printing width, it said, enabling it to compete more effectively across a broader range of work while shifting shorter run work from the flexo presses.

“Purchasing the Gallus Five was an easy decision for us,” said Thomas Dahbura, owner of Hub Labels. “With the ability to colour match between flexo and digital processes, we can mix technologies on a single job without compromise, and the little time needed for changing jobs on the hybrid platform is a real paradigm shift for high-SKU work.

“As a previous early adopter of the Gallus Labelfire 340 – which also combined two technologies on one platform, like the Gallus Five – we are excited to continue working with the Heidelberg and Gallus team, as they bring their latest technology to the US market and supports us in futureproofing our operation with their flexible label solutions.”
