NextGen Label Group has announced a planned leadership transition within its technical department, with chief technical officer (CTO) Paul Roux set to retire at the end of 2026. Anton Ali has been appointed as vice president of technical services and will succeed Mr Roux as CTO following his retirement.
Mr Ali assumed the role of vice president of technical services on 4 May 2026 and will work alongside Mr Roux for the remainder of the year before taking over as CTO. According to the company, the transition is part of its long-term succession planning.
Mr Ali joins NextGen Label Group from Google, where he led global packaging engineering and supply chain strategy. He has more than 20 years of experience in packaging and materials science.
Before joining Google, Mr Ali served as technical director at Hammer Packaging, now part of MCC, where he was responsible for package engineering, field service teams and research and development activities supporting consumer packaged goods brands.
Mr Ali commented: “NextGen Label Group has built exceptional technical capabilities and a reputation for customer partnership. I look forward to working alongside our employee-owners across all locations to continue advancing innovation, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering solutions that help our customers succeed.”
Dan Rosenbaum, president & CEO of NextGen Label Group, said: “We are confident that Anton’s forward-looking leadership and technical expertise will build upon the strong foundation Paul has established. We are excited about the future of NextGen Label Group under his leadership.”
Speaking on the departing Mr Roux, Mr Rosenbaum added: “Paul’s contributions over the past two decades have been exceptional. His leadership has advanced our technical capabilities, strengthened key customer partnerships, and positioned NextGen Label Group for long-term success. We are deeply grateful for his impact and look forward to celebrating his accomplishments.”
NextGen Label Group said it will continue to focus on innovation, packaging technologies, sustainability initiatives and technical support for customers following the leadership transition.
