Polish label and packaging converter Aniflex has invested in a Mark Andy Digital Series HD HighSpeed 1200 hybrid press as part of its strategy to increase production flexibility and support growing customer demand for shorter runs, multiple product variants and consistent quality.

The new press combines flexo and UV inkjet technologies within a single production platform, enabling the company to streamline workflows and manage increasingly complex label production requirements.

According to Aniflex co-owner Maciej Wojtaszek, one of the most significant changes in the label market has been the growing number of product variants rather than major changes in packaging design itself.

“Within a single product category, we now see far more flavour, functional and language variants,” Mr Wojtaszek said. “One product may exist in multiple graphic versions, with each version additionally produced in several language adaptations. This directly increases the number of SKUs and adds complexity throughout the production process.”

As a result, label converters are facing greater demands for flexibility while maintaining quality and delivery performance. Mr Wojtaszek said customers increasingly require both short-run and higher-volume production capabilities.

“Our customers expect flexibility above all else,” he said. “The market increasingly requires an ability to produce multiple short-run versions alongside higher-volume jobs, while maintaining consistent quality and reliable delivery performance.”

The investment forms part of Aniflex’s longer-term development strategy focused on scalability, process control and operational stability. Mr Wojtaszek said the company views technology investments as essential to maintaining competitiveness in a rapidly evolving market.

“We see technology investments as a natural step in building a stable, scalable and future-ready organisation,” he said.

Aniflex selected the Mark Andy hybrid platform after conducting evaluations and testing at demonstration centres and production sites across Europe. The company already had experience with both Mark Andy flexo equipment and inkjet technology, which influenced its decision.

“Technology stability was one of the most important criteria for us,” Mr Wojtaszek commented. “Combining these two technologies into a single hybrid platform proved to be an optimal solution for our business.”

The integrated production system is expected to reduce production stages, minimise handling of semi-finished products between machines and improve overall process consistency. Aniflex has also invested in operator training and plans to expand the press’s use into more advanced applications. The company expects the system to eventually operate in a two-shift production environment.

Beyond production efficiency, Mr Wojtaszek said Aniflex aims to support customers throughout the packaging development process, from design consultation and material selection to ensuring performance on packaging lines.

Mark Andy Poland director Przemysław Polkowski said the investment reflects broader industry trends toward combining technology and expertise to improve operational performance.

“Aniflex consistently demonstrates that the future of the industry belongs to companies that successfully combine technology, expertise and partnership into one cohesive production ecosystem,” Mr Polkowski stated.

The installation marks another step in Aniflex’s digital transformation strategy, with the company focusing on managing production complexity, maintaining quality consistency and supporting future growth.
