An investment in a Bobst Master M6 flexo press is at the heart of a major transformation project just completed at Paranova Print and Packaging’s St Neots site in the UK.
Paranova, which recently emerged as a standalone business from Coveris, has put £5 million (€5.78 million) into establishing the St Neots operation as “the largest fibre-based food-to-go manufacturing site in Europe”.
As well as tripling capacity with an additional 2000sq/m of production space, the factory has also been modernised around high-speed workflow, manufacturing efficiency and waste reduction, said Paranova.
The nine-station Bobst M6 (with inline Martin Automatic web handling) has “bespoke capabilities” for lined board food-to-go applications, the company continued, supporting innovation across formats such as sandwich skillets, wrap boxes, trays and cartons.
Jo Ormrod, CEO at Paranova Print and Packaging, said: “This investment marks a defining moment for Paranova and reinforces our ambition to lead the future of sustainable food-to-go packaging.
“By developing the UK’s new home of food-to-go packaging, we have built a manufacturing operation designed around innovation, quality and sustainability – enabling us to better support our customers with scalable fibre-based solutions that meet both consumer expectations and evolving legislation.”
