US-based premium food packaging manufacturer The Revere Group has made a transition to Siegwerk’s low-migration Sicura Nutriflex Orbis DC (dual cure) UV inks, with the change claimed to enable higher press speeds, improved uptime, reduced waste and more consistent Expanded Colour Gamut (ECG) printing. The decision extends a longstanding collaboration between the two companies.
The Revere Group, a fourth-generation family-owned company based in Seattle, Washington, uses ECG technology to reproduce more than 90% of Pantone colours with seven inks instead of the conventional four. This approach reduces the need for frequent clean-ups between jobs and improves colour consistency. Siegwerk supported Revere by precisely matching its seven-colour ink set, allowing operators to maintain workflow continuity.
“The switch to Siegwerk’s low-migration inks has definitely paid off for us,” said Mark Revere, co-president at The Revere Group. “They run faster and more cleanly on our press, improve uptime and reduce waste – an important factor when it comes to our sustainability.”
In addition to performance gains, the inks can be cured using both UV and LED UV lamps, offering greater operational flexibility and supporting lower energy consumption.
The collaboration has also extended into the development of more sustainable packaging solutions. Through technical exchanges and access to Siegwerk’s global expertise, Revere has introduced special primers for compostable applications and recyclable mono-material structures. These innovations are intended to help brand owners respond to increasing demand for environmentally responsible flexible packaging.
“Our work with The Revere Group demonstrates how a strong partnership, technical expertise and consistent ink performance can drive efficiency and sustainability in packaging,” said Mike Hoft, west regional sales manager at Siegwerk CUSA. He added that customers like Revere “challenge us to think differently,” strengthening the value of the collaboration.
The relationship between the two companies dates back to 1989, when The Revere Group first adopted Siegwerk’s water-based inks. Sally Revere, co-president of the company, said the partnership continues to be driven by shared technical goals. “They share the same curiosity and technical passion, helping us to solve complex challenges and deliver high-quality, food-safe packaging to our clients.”
