UK-based specialist in medication adherence packaging components Medi-Clear has invested in a Nilpeter FB-17 flexo press to support continued growth and innovation capacity, and strengthen efficiency across its healthcare packaging portfolio.

Steve Watt, operations and technical director at Medi-Clear, explained that as the company’s offering expanded, its existing equipment began to limit performance, prompting the need for new technology to improve capability and efficiency. The company’s priorities were increasing throughput and handling a wider range of materials.

Following a close development process, Mr Watt said Medi-Clear selected Nilpeter. He added that Nilpeter stood out for its commitment, responsiveness and collaborative approach, which felt more like a partnership than a typical supplier relationship and gave confidence in delivering a bespoke solution.

With the Nilpeter FB-17, Medi-Clear expects to unlock increased flexibility across its existing formats, while creating a stronger platform for new product development and leaner production.

“This investment gives us opportunities that we simply didn’t have before,” Mr Watt commented. “It supports new product development options, and it also allows us to approach our existing portfolio in a leaner way, with improved efficiency and capability.”

John Hammond, sales director at Nilpeter UK, said: “From the beginning, this has been a genuinely collaborative process with Medi-Clear. Their requirements evolved as the specification took shape, and throughout we focused on transparency and getting the details right. The result is a bespoke FB-17 configuration built on partnership and trust, and a platform designed to support Medi-Clear’s next steps in efficiency and innovation.”

Looking ahead, Medi-Clear sees the FB-17 as an important step in its ongoing focus on performance and capability.

Mr Watt concluded: “Our priority now is to see how the press performs in our operation and the value it delivers – we’re confident it will play a meaningful role in supporting our goals.”
