The Label Makers has acquired Redcar-based First Choice Labels in a move that brings together two companies operating in the self-adhesive label sector. The acquisition increases production capacity across the group and maintains operations at both sites.

First Choice Labels will continue to trade under its existing name and will remain based at its Redcar facility. All employees are being retained. According to both companies, the acquisition is intended to align complementary capabilities and maintain continuity for customers.

As part of the transition, Colin Harbinson – who has worked at First Choice Labels for more than 19 years – has been appointed operations director. Staff from both organisations have met as part of the onboarding process.

“I am immensely proud to take on this new role as our two businesses come together,” said Mr Harbinson. “First Choice Labels has always been committed to delivering excellent products and service and it’s clear that The Label Makers shares those same values. Joining forces allows us to strengthen what we already do well, and I look forward to working closely with both teams to drive continued quality and innovation.”

Zenna Parfaniuk, managing director of The Label Makers, said: “First Choice Labels is a natural complement to our business. Their dedication to quality, customer service and long-standing client relationships mirrors our own approach, making this an excellent cultural and strategic fit. Together, we can offer an even broader range of self-adhesive solutions while maintaining the premium standards our customers expect. We are delighted to welcome the First Choice team into the wider organisation.”

The Label Makers said the acquisition will widen the group’s overall self-adhesive label offering and support its position in the UK market.
