Techkon USA has launched a new version of its ChromaQA colour measurement software, with version 6.5 adding new features to its AI-powered ink toning engine and further compatibility with GMG OpenColor proofing and profiling software.
SmartInk, the ink toning engine, now has anilox compensation built in, enabling a single colorant set to be used across multiple anilox rolls. Techkon said this will save users significant time in producing and measuring ink drawdowns, and simplifies the selection of the correct colorant set from a much shorter list.
ChromaQA can now also import colours directly from GMG OpenColor – an integration that Techkon says significantly reduces the time required to create colour books and libraries and set up new job templates in the software. It is also now possible to export TVI correction curves for platesetters directly out of ChromaQA, with ISO, Esko, Kodak, Agfa and HP Indigo formats supported.
Stephen Rankin, product development manager at Techkon USA, said: “These major new features, and several other smaller tweaks and fixes, amount to a noticeably smoother workflow and user experience, and help save time and money, so that colour measurement and management becomes a seamless and frictionless process for printers and their customers everywhere.”
