Ink manufacturer hubergroup has introduced its Gecko LA (Lamination Adhesives) portfolio to the European market, which it says was developed to complement the solvent-based Gecko ink range.

The adhesives have long been available in Asia, making it a mature, well-proven technology, according to hubergroup; one that has been continuously adapted to meet new market requirements such as those relating to packaging safety and sustainability.

“By introducing Gecko LA to the European market, we are uniting two worlds: proven adhesive performance and our deep expertise in packaging inks,” said Giulia Landini, hubergroup’s head of business development for lamination adhesives in Europe. “We are thus reacting to converters’ demands for integrated systems that run reliably, meet strict food‑contact and sustainability requirements, and are backed by responsive local support.”

The adhesives – which span both solvent and solvent-free systems and are applicable across a wide variety of film structures – are now being produced within the EU, strengthening supply chain security and allowing closer collaboration with customers, from trials to long-term material strategies. Both the solvent and solvent-free products include low migration options for sensitive food and consumer applications.
