Rollers, blankets and pressroom consumables supplier BFS Pressroom Solutions is marking its 40th anniversary in 2026, celebrating four decades of supplying products and engineering services to the UK print sector.
The company was founded in 1986 in Reading, Berkshire by John Hope as Business Forms Services. Initially focused on supplying self-adhesive blankets to business forms and envelope printers, the business expanded as the print industry underwent consolidation and technological change.
Over the years, the company has grown through manufacturing investment and partnerships. Key developments include becoming the exclusive UK supplier of Rollin printing blankets, acquiring Tyke Rollers and securing a licence to manufacture Westland rollers in the UK.
Today, BFS Pressroom Solutions manufactures printing rollers and converts printing blankets for a range of sectors, including commercial, packaging and flexographic printing. The company remains family owned and is led by managing director Robin Hope with a management team drawn from technical and operational roles in the industry.
From its headquarters and production facility in Haverhill, BFS produces new, recovered and exchange rollers, provides CNC engineering services and converts printing blankets for sheetfed and web presses. It also works with international suppliers to introduce additional pressroom technologies to the UK market.
“Over the last 40 years the print industry has changed enormously, but the need for reliable pressroom performance has never gone away,” said Robin Hope, managing director of BFS Pressroom Solutions.
The company plans to mark the anniversary throughout 2026 while continuing to invest in engineering capability and product development aimed at supporting future pressroom technologies.
