US-based label printer Catapult Print has introduced a vendor managed inventory (VMI) service as part of its digital order management offering.
The label printing company, which is equipped with Nilpeter flexo technology, will integrate the new service with its proprietary Crystal digital management system and Crystal+ app, supported by a network of strategic warehousing locations. The VMI solution is designed to provide just-in-time inventory management, enabling customers to access label stock as required while reducing on-site storage needs.
According to the company, customers using the service will have access to next-day label delivery in many cases. The system allows users to draw down inventory in real time and select specific quantities as needed. Inventory data is available through a secure Crystal dashboard, which supports demand forecasting and order planning. The Crystal+ app includes scanning functionality intended to provide up-to-date inventory visibility.
Lewis Cook, CEO of Catapult Print, said the company developed the VMI strategy to support customers requiring faster delivery across multiple locations.
“We have already reduced lead times to under five days,” he said. “We recognised that some customers would benefit from next-day delivery at multiple sites, and VMI enables us to support that requirement at scale.”
Mr Cook added that the service allows customers to draw down stock on an as-needed basis rather than relying solely on scheduled replenishment.
Catapult Print states that the service is available to customers across the US and is designed to combine centralised production capabilities with localised distribution.
