Flexible packaging manufacturer St Johns Packaging has added a used Windmöller & Hölscher Miraflex flexo printing press to its facility in Ilkeston, UK. The company said the investment is intended to strengthen its operational capabilities and support its service to customers.
Described as being in “excellent” condition, the Miraflex press is expected to expand the company’s flexographic printing capacity, particularly for wicketed bags and other custom packaging formats. According to St Johns Packaging, the equipment supports high-speed production across multiple substrates. It declined to say from where the press was purchased.
“This acquisition marks a pivotal step in our growth strategy,” said Lloyd Dicks, general manager (UK & Europe) for St Johns Packaging. “The Miraflex allows us to scale production, improve turnaround times, and maintain the exceptional print quality our customers expect – all while making a sustainable choice by giving proven technology a new chapter in its lifecycle.”
St Johns Packaging plans to exhibit at the Packaging Innovations event at the NEC in Birmingham in February 2026. The company said it aims to engage with brand owners interested in its combined model of just-in-time domestic manufacturing and global sourcing through affiliated sites.
