US-based ink manufacturer INX International has launched a new nitrocellulose-free (NCF) range of flexographic inks, which it says is “purpose-driven to meet and support the growing demand for inks compatible with mono-material packaging”.
Designed for adhesive lamination, Innova Plus NCF is an extension of the existing Innova Plus range for flexible packaging, but the NCF factor makes them more suitable for packaging recycling.
The launch comes amidst constantly evolving recycling standards and legislation in Europe – in particular the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) – and with some states in the US, such as California, Colorado, Maine and Oregon, having already passed Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes.
“Now is the time to act to get ahead of the regulatory measures,” said Renee Schouten, VP of marketing at INX.
She continued: “Innova Plus NCF inks deliver exceptional performance benefits. This includes superior print quality, excellent adhesion, and reliable consistency across various substrates and packaging formats. Engineered specifically for adhesive lamination, these inks provide robust bond strength and stability while maintaining clarity and vibrancy even under demanding production conditions. Innova Plus NCF ensures efficient and trouble-free printing operations to help converters achieve outstanding achieve outstanding lamination performance while meeting sustainability objectives.”
