Esko is to run two events in the UK in late June, showcasing its latest technologies for printers, converters and brand packaging professionals. It said the events in London and Sheffield will “help drive efficiency, sustainability and profitability in the packaging industry”.
The “Esko on Tour” events call at the Chelsea Stadium in London on Tuesday 24 June, followed by Sheffield Hallam University on Thursday 26 June. They will follow the Esko World event in St Louis, USA, earlier in the month.
The content will be suitable for printers and converters working in labels, flexible packaging and folding carton, as well as brands working in packaging design, artwork and labelling management. Speakers will include Benjamin Punchard, global packaging insights director with Mintel, and Peter MacQueen, associate head of the Sheffield Creative Industries Institute at Sheffield Hallam University, who will examine packaging innovation in the age of sustainability.
Jan De Roeck, Esko’s chief marketing officer, said: “With quality now a given and customers placing more and more demand on their suppliers, such as ever-shortening lead times, shorter runs and more sophisticated designs – all while being mindful of sustainability objectives – converters are constantly having to deal with numerous complex challenges in their operations.
“At each of these two UK events, attendees will learn how to tackle these challenges and deliver measurable sustainability gains and drive efficiency with AI-based solutions. We will explore new tools designed to improve CSR activities and empower packaging production excellence and take a close look at how to manage colour consistency in today’s production.”
The events will also include best practice and success stories from some of Esko’s customers and industry experts, while there will be an exhibition area that will take visitors on a “deep dive” into each of the company’s new innovations unveiled at the US event a couple of weeks before. A plenary session will lay out how these solutions will deliver tangible benefits to any business, the company said.
