INX is set to showcase its new Innova Plus NCF nitrocellulose-free flexographic inks at Forum InfoFlex, in Pittsburgh in May, alongside showing an expanded line-up of smart and sustainable products and offering demonstrations of its Genesis Washable inks.

Hosted by the Flexographic Technical Association, the event which takes place at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh between 4-7 May, will be a stage for the ink producer to showcase its “powerful” solutions, stated Renee Schouten, vice president of marketing for INX. One of these solutions, Innova Plus NCF, delivers the same “trusted performance” across all flexible packaging structures as the existing Innova Plus inks, which contain nitrocellulose, do, commented Ms Schouten.

“New packaging regulations in Europe and recycling initiatives in the United States have raised recycling standards so converters and brand owners must ensure that all packaging components, including ink, supports these goals,” noted Ms Schouten. “Innova Plus NCF was specifically developed for mono-material packaging to help meet recyclability targets. It is a proven, universal solution that gives you reliable performance without sacrificing quality.”

INX will also demonstrate its Genesis washable inks daily, which are designed to support PET recycling. The company said these inks can be effectively removed from cPET films and roll-fed OPP labels during the recycling process, helping to maintain the clarity and quality of recycled PET for reuse in high-value applications such as bottles.

Additionally, its INXhrc inks, formulated with bio-renewable ingredients, will be shown at Forum InfoFlex. These inks avoid many common chemical additives and offer lower carbon emissions, aligning with growing demand for safer, more sustainable packaging options, the company explained.

Other products on show include the INXFlex Contour flexographic inks, suitable for shrink sleeve applications and featuring dual UV and LED curing; and GelFlex EB, a gel-based ink system for CI flexographic printing with electron beam curing, that the company says delivers gravure-like quality while eliminating the need for lamination, leading to material weight reduction and improved recyclability. GelFlex EB’s crosslinked durable ink film eliminates the need for a lamination layer, creating a double bonus situation with a 30% weight reduction that reduces the cost and package weight, and improves recyclability.
