The P3 at Birografika MB is the first Mark Andy Performance Series press in Serbia

Leading Serbian print house, Birografika MB, has installed a Mark Andy Performance Series P3 press at its headquarters in Subotica. The P3 has a 250 mm web width and is fitted with seven UV flexo print stations. Installed at the end of January, it is the first of its kind in Serbia. According to company officials, the press was chosen for its combination of easy and quick makeready, short web path for low wastage and ability to hold tight register at high speed.

Birografika was set up in 2006 to fill a gap left by the demise of a well-established printing business that dated back to the 1920s. The aim was to build on the quality reputation and continue with the business long term, utilising existing skills and personnel. Today, the company has a thriving flexo division, and a growing portfolio of satisfied customers in Serbia and surrounding countries. Its location in the north, close to the borders with Hungary, Romania and Croatia offers good access to markets where demand for quality labels continues to rise, and its ISO 9001:2008 and HACCP standards accreditation confirm its capability to deliver.

Currently, Biografika uses a variety of substrates including OPP film, self-adhesive stocks, PET and PE for tapes, laminates for tubes and sachets and light board for cartons. The new P3 will broaden its product offering to a portfolio of customers that includes Carlsberg and Michelin.

Speaking for Mark Andy, European sales director, Tom Cavalco commented, ‘We are delighted to secure our first sale in Serbia and proud to work with a company like Birografika where quality is a by-word, and customer service is high on the agenda – this is an excellent reference point for Mark Andy.’
