Meech has brought its static control technology to Labelexpo Europe 2015 to show converters a few new features of its popular range of ionising bars.

The recently launched Hyperion 924IPS static control bar is on display, David Rogers, technical director, said, ‘It used to be that AC bar were the fashion however now everybody loves using the 24 volt system. So far these have been too large to fit onto most narrow web presses so we wanted to build on the Hyperion 924IPS.’

The advantages of running the static controller on 24 volts is that it can run straight off the press’ power supply with no need for transformers. The bar also comes with an automatic cleaning alert which when working with the Hyperion Barmaster can inform the press manager when the bar needs cleaning. The bar master also allows users to adjust the ionising power of the bar for use with sensitive applications.

Other static control options on the company’s stand was the Hyperion 915 AC bar. ‘Despite the launch of the 24volt static control bars, AC systems are still the go to technology for most flexo presses, but this requires an AC transformer to convert the power system of the press into an AC current.’

In order to accommodate this, the company has developed the Hyperion 907 power supply for A.C ionising bars which converts the D.C current of the press into an A.C output, keeping A.C systems relevant in the industry for a little while longer.

The company has also released a smaller version of its air cleaning unit which works in conjunction with its web cleaning units.
