Print Proof Solutions premières its new Evolution Series COR 300 table-top wet proofing system for flexo applications at the stand of its partner company, GSE Dispensing.
The Evolution Series provides a precise, predictable offline method of colour proofing by simulating, the conditions of the printer’s flexographic press.
The proofing machine uses the same components, including the exact photopolymer printing plate materials, adhesive tapes, substrates, doctor blades and anilox roll types as used for the job. The equipment allows the printer to proof inks and achieve an accuracy of within 1 DeltaE of the target colour on the press.
The COR 300 is capable of proofing on all paper and film packaging substrates to corrugated board. User-friendly features include a cantilevered turret for easy web access, the possibility for tool-less changeovers of substrates and rewind cores, and fine-tune speed and tension controls.
The ES 200 Proofing Handle uses two-inch anilox rolls that can be exchanged in seconds, thanks to a tool-less design. Featuring fully sealed micrometer heads and improved anilox bearings, the ES 200 accommodates aniloxes of all cell-counts used in packaging printing situations.
Anne Lourens, managing director of Print Proof Solutions, commented, ‘With its precision and enhanced user convenience, the Evolution Series proofing system assures accurate, repeatable quality without the need for costly on-press colour matching or adjustments. The significant savings generated by this system, in terms of startup waste and preparation time, demonstrate why offline proofing is an essential component of a lean ink workflow.’
Lean manufacturing is a concept which GSE Dispensing is promoting at Labelexpo Europe 2015.
‘Colour alterations on the press are very time consuming, if a printer can save 15 minutes per job by getting the colour right before loading up the press then they can save hours of press running time in a day,’ said Maarten Hummelen, marketing director, GSE Dispensing.
