The Diamond First award given to Coveris for winning the Flexo Print on Paper – Narrow Web category
Global packaging provider Coveris has been presented with the Diamond First award at the inaugural FTA Diamond Flexo Awards 2016.
The FTA Diamond Flexo Awards celebrate outstanding flexographic print with entrants composed of national award winners.
Coveris’ winning entry is an eye-catching linerless label produced for Asda’s ‘The Butcher’s Selection’ Venison Steak with Basil & Garlic Butter. Selected by Coveris for its complex blend of process and spot colours, striking design and associated plate technology, the label won the ‘Flexo Print on Paper – Narrow Web’ category at the EFIA Print Awards in March.
As a winner, the label was automatically entered in the FTA Flexo Diamond Awards to compete against other award winners from across Europe.
Michael Marshall, operations director (Labels Division) at Coveris commented, ‘We strive to deliver best in class print quality utilising market leading technology, expert colour management and operational excellence. The award of Diamond First is a major accolade to receive in the highly competitive European flexographic industry and a reflection of the rigorous processes implemented in our labels business to deliver exceptional quality flexographic print. We consistently aim to raise standards at all stages of the manufacturing process, and this award provides the ultimate in industry recognition.’
FTA Europe was founded in 2015, and acts as the umbrella organisation for European flexographic organisations, including the UK’s European Flexographic Industry Association (EFIA).
