Bobst premiered the next generation of its K5000 metalliser, the K5 Expert, at its Manchester open house event on 18 October.
The K5 Expert is claimed to run at speeds up to 1200m/min, is available in widths from 2450 mm to 3650 mm and can house increased roll diameters of up to 1270 mm to meet new industry trends for improved productivity.
The new metalliser houses the largest coating drum in the industry: 700 mm, which is reputed to improve collection efficiency by 16% – also reducing aluminium consumption and increasing boat life.
